I've been buying old Series 9 filters, because frankly, they are cheaper then the square matte box types, and still big enough to fit all my lenses.
Anyways, I've been looking for a lens cap that fits over the adapter ring, so I can just keep the filter on the lens if I need to. However, it appears there is no such official lens cap for these. I went ahead and measured the size of the adapter ring, and it came to just about 92mm. I went and bought a 92mm push on lens cap, only to find that it is itself, exactly 92mm, meaning it is just a few millimeters too small to fit on over the adapter ring, and would need to be just a few mm larger.
I see that 100mm lens caps are out there, but that seems like to big a step up. I have noticed that there are some obscure 95mm lens caps, and this might be just right. However, I want to avoid buying another useless item, so can anyone make a suggestion on lens caps that would work over a series 9 adapter ring?
