@10s ... so it seems you're talking about the inet as it was several years ago.. never heard about the problem of information overflow.. to much redundant and unorganized information?! If you look at the pbase site of Mr. Pappas.. that's a good example.. it is totally chaotic and unorganized in my humble opinion.. and so were most of his postings.
And what would be the point of basically all the same threads and postings in parallel on all the DV boards? Why the hell should then there even be more than one? What's the point? Well if you don't have the time to check all the boards - in particular this one - than just leave it! It's free for gods sake and nobody orders you to come here... and you don't pay for it.. so if you don't like Jarreds policy... well you know what...
Jeez.. sorry but I was personally involved of the development of several software tools that were provided free of charge for home/private use... and I'm really p*ssed by people who take stuff for free and than come and moan about it or demand changes etc.
SoerenM, thanks but what you said is really redundant and chaotic, but you're more than welcome to say your piece and i did my best to wade through the chaos. Basically you didn't say anything new, as with is often the case with the rest of us here, so why did you say it? did you wish to jump in as others and contribute toward the mass redundancy?
From my limited observations most all boards are full of redundant information, and this is often good. Somehow each time the information is sent forth it is in a new context and therefore it can have new meaning and yield new insight. That's what most writers do and secondary researchers, they repackage information. Only basic research yields new information and often times that is very little.
So while I hate to be redundant, I must admit that redundancy is obviously appreciated, even your and mine redundant pieces. It must be so, otherwise you & I would not be here.
