So why hasn't this whole pappas thing been adressed yet? I don't understand? It doesn't make any sense? Why does the earth spin horizontally? How come my DVX makes a clicking sound when I tip it up and down? Whats "progessive" mean? Why is there a moose in my yard?

So, John, "why hasn't this been addressed"??? I was under the impression that Pookie and TC were real and now I find they are not - some people here have NEVER seen any posts by them! Even you seem to think they are real! So, when are you gonna address the fact many of us are having the same hallucination? What kind of "waves" are coming from the board?? Is this a plot for the Zombie Contest?? ARE WE ALL EXPERIMENTS???

OK, I was up waaaaay too late last night and am now a bit punch drunk. :grin:

I know you've been here for a 'little while' but you gotta realize; part of the charm of this site is the thread jacking and chit chat. We are not as stringent as some of the other boards in terms of flexibility of off topic chatter; we have always been a little more mellow here. It's not for everyone; some people like it this way and others find it too wild west for them.

So lighten up; what would a thread be without TC or Pookie jacking it? They have contributed enormously to this community and in my book are natives.

Now, back to the mind control zobie experiment

I disagree. I disagree because I do not jump around all over the WEB, from board to board and read the same material. I don't have the time nor the interest, I have more important matters at hand. So while some of you find the cross posting annoying, I find it to be fresh information.

Please consider others, such as me and stop such a policy.

For those of you that surf the boards, you can always skip over reading redundant information, you can't be that helpless.

Redundant information is not harmful, restricting information is harmful.

(I'm shocked that in the information age there are some who don't get it, redundant information is good. It takes a while for a message to get through and often has to be repeated multiple times...see many of Barry Green's Messages and you'll see what I mean)

If you want the board to be important and helpful then we need all the information we can get, and we need moderators to help keep it organized so it's accessible.

10s I couldn't have said it better. I'm in the same position as you and don't want to spend my time searching through several sites.

I welcome any and all cross posting. Unfortunately, the site owners and the advertisers don't because in their zeal to sell us products they want us to visit multiple sites and be exposed to as much advertising as possible – especially theirs.

I will miss Michael and his passionate efforts to make the DHX 200 a much better camera - one that I will consider more seriously if it includes his views to improve it.

As much advertising as possible? What site are you referring to? Surely not this one? For the record; there is NO outside influence other than what Jarred decides on this forum. This site isa ranked 45,000 in the world currently; if Jarred wanted to turn this into an 'Ad Fest' he would have done it long ago.

As far as the subject of Cross-Posting?

I'm torn on this. On one hand I can see the merit of letting the masses know about something;

On the other hand; it's not entirely original to cross post; it can really detract from the personality of a site don't you think? It's not a message board we run here; it's a community of mostly like-minded filmmakers engaged in sharing ideas and tips and knowledge.

Furthermore; isn't it about time to quit moaning and bitching about the percieved shortcomings of the camera (HVX)? It's already getting old. No matter the camera or the manufacturer, people are never really happy. It's just a damn camera. It's either for you or not for you.

Pappas is indeed a professional and has wonderful ideas; howver not everyone agrees with those ideas; as far as making the 200 a 'much better camera', to me it's already looking like the mother of all cameras in this price point. In time, it to will be improved upon with new camera offerings.

Anyway; just some thoughts; but I know you are not referrinf to this site with "...site owners and the advertisers don't because in their zeal to sell us products they want us to visit multiple sites...".

TC and me have been posting (with help from our "friends") way cool pictures with the mindless banter that DVXuser's have come to know and love.

Imagine my outrage at the attempts to hijack things away with this "pappas" stuff.

I expect more for my money, make them stop John, make them stop....
