Thanks for the list Alex. I had quite a few, just ordered more of them, should have all but the first one on the list which is kind of pricey-- is that one really worth it (I think it was $40 new?).

EDIT: I just also ordered Bill's bluebook series, looking forward to reading it all!

As long as I stay busy here I do not have to stare at a blank page, write stories, LOL.

I have been reading Screenwriting is Storytelling by Kate Wright and I have to say it is deep. At least the first few chapters I have read. She really hits home the point that storytelling and screenwriting are two different but related beasts, that most writers do not take enough time and effort to master the the storytelling-- crafting a story spine, theme, inner arcs, and intertwining them. It really hit home with me after reading Wright's words why most scripts are rank amateur (including mine at this point in time). Also gave me a great boost in optimism at ignoring the 100,000 or so scripts written each year, because I see now why 99% are not A-list screenplays. I am determined to master this craft, it will take time, but I can see the road ahead and the destination, worth the journey!

Randall--

That's the key... persistence.

A long time ago I read an article somewhere that said (and I'm paraphrasing) ...for newcomers to the trade, it takes, on average, writing 9 features before you sell one.

EJ-- that's a great question. Let me look at that list again.

OK, I'm back.

Story Sense by Paul Lucey
The Writer's Journey by Christopher Vogler
Writing Screenplays That Sell by Michael Hauge
The Anatomy of Story: 22 Steps... Master Storyteller by John Truby
Writing for Emotional Impact by Karl Iglesias
The Power of the Transformational Arc by Dara Marks

I know it's six, but I just couldn't pare it down any further. Sorry, man!
