Sequences Settings Problem...

For some reason, every time I try to open the "Sequence Settings" on Final Cut, my system crashes. This is literally the only thing that does that for me...I could be rendering six things simultaneously while playing a video game and nothing goes wrong, but just hitting Apple-0 crashes it...

...So I was curious: a) Whether this has every happened to anyone else and how you resolved it, or b) If there is some other way to change the timeline to 23.98fps without having to go through the Sequence Settings?

Run a disk utility on your drive and try trashing the prefs. This isn't normal behavior.
Also note if you already have clips in the sequence ou won't be allowed to change the sequence fps. This is only enabled on virgin sequences so you may have to create a new sequence.
