I dont think there is a solution for this but I wanted to take a shot:
Recorded 2 different events on the same SD card with the Sony NX5.
For archival and back up purposes I want to separate these 2 events into 2 different project folders, but so far I couldnt figure out a way to do it.
It is not like Canon DSLR footage where you have direct access to individual clips, where you can organize them the way you want under different folders.
With Sony NX5 there are CPI and MTS files kept under different folders; so here is what I did:
Created an exact copy of the card on a hard drive, renamed the title of the 1st event, deleted the 2nd event corresponding clips(MTS and CPI files specifically). Then I tried to open it with FCP 7 log and transfer; FCP doesnt recognize the folder and says something like 'file structure is damaged.'
This was the most logical solution I thought would be.
Sony NX5 workflow website suggests using Content Management disk that comes with the camcorderto separate the clips, unfortunately it is only for Windows.
So any ideas?
