Sensors in a box...They're coming!

Do you know what they used for a PCB/program to get around the auto exposure?

If I remember correctly, it's explained in one of their vids... I saw it the other day. Something about locking the exposure upon power up with the previous exposure used. Look at their website for explanation..

That would be crazy awesome. A high sensitivity sensor, a B&W sensor, an "all in one" sensor, etc. You'd buy a body and then fill it with what you needed. I like where this could go

The rumours of the new Panavision 70mm digital cinema camera are really interesting in this regard: you can shoot 70mm, Vistavision, Anamorphic, S35mm all in one camera.

YES, I've been saying this for a awile now, I don't think it's such a big stretch considering the speed at which tech. is moving. One camera platform, interchangable lens mounts and sensors. Man that would be sweet.

This already exists in the Ricoh GXR

how hard/expensive would it be to build something like the go pro 3 black?

By build, do you mean a new camera from scratch?

I would say probably $10k to $20k to develop a prototype. The actual parts themselves wouldn't cost more than $500-$1000, the rest would go towards paying people.

It all depends on how quickly you want it done, and who you get to work on it.
