I am planning to get a G2 Sennheisser system to complement my DVX audio. I lived in Winnipeg, Canada. I understand that there are different frequencies for the G2 systems.

Has anyone purchased a G2 wireless system from Canada and which frequency did you choosed?

BHPHOTOVideo has three sets of RF frequency range UHF (740-776) , 518-554 and 626-662 MHZ.

I am leaning into getting the 740-776 MHZ.

Or does it even matter? I would like to minimized outside interferences as much as possible.

Please help.
Tks.

I'm in Vancouver and my system is in the range 626 - 662. I've never had any problems with finding "clean" ranges even when I shoot in areas with other broadcast people or even construction areas.

Regardless you have a LOT of frequencies to choose from so I don't think you'll have any problems finding a clean one no matter what frequency you choose. In talks with resellers I found out that the main reason for the 3 differen ranges is that they often sell large quantities of systems to schools, tv stations and artists. to prevent the frequencies being filled up they deliberately sell one third of each frequency range to the buyers when the systems are going in large bulks. So for instance when I called they asked if I was from a local broadcast school because if I was they had to make sure I got the right one.

Just keep in mind that the US frequency range is much larger than the Canadian one and that in most European and Asian countries the ranges used for Broadcast Television are used for military communication making the system useless and illegal.

Thanks morten for the reply, I think I will settle for the 518-554 range. I have called a canada store here and they are recommending this freq range.
