Sennheiser SKP100 Plug-In transmitter - Battery Install Problem

I have the above mic transmitter. I wanted to check to ensure it worked before I tried to sell it. For some reason I can't get the two AA batteries installed. The batteries seem too long for the enclosure. For the life of me, I can't get the door closed. Can anyone help me? Gerald, ingramvideo at gmail dot com. Thanks in advance.

1: Have you got them the right way round? The flat base should be inserted first against the springs with the top end with the smaller centre conductor facing you.

2: you need to push the battery in compressing the springs as that is why the springs at the base end are there!
