Sennheiser MKH 416T V MKH 416 P48

Hi all, can someone explain the difference between the two mics, and if one is better than the other?

I have just been offered an 18 month old MKH 416T for the equivelent of $350. Is this a bargain or not?

I ask because I don't think it has phantom power. Can I still use it on location into a Sound Devices 722 without any problems? Or should I pass and just get the MKH416 P48?

That's a good deal because the only difference is that the T model requires 12 volt phantom power, rather than 48 volts. Buy the following adapter and you'll be good to go with your SD 722.

Thanks very much Barry. I thought it was a bargain so I have now got it, taking the risk with the T rather than the P48. Its as new so really even if I don't get on with it I can get my money back on Ebay.
