How much better is the MKE 2-ew-3 Gold compared to the lav that comes with the kit?

And how does it compare to the Countryman B6? Yes I know the B6 is smaller, but other than that?

this is low sensitivity mike , not the best option for regullar conversation , usially used for very loud voices or singing , look for regullar mke if you use g-2 or ev since you will have to push the level up what can make the sound hissy.
sounds quit different then the b-6 - but generally its a good mike with low self noise .
if you buy used ,check carefully since these might be very colorated because the sweat true the years .
b-6 other way is completely sweat problem free

Damn! I was hoping they would be fine for normal conversation. This last week I have been trying to get all my audio gear together, and make the right choices as well. This forum has been excellent for good advice to a guy who is a novice at sound. Better to ask a load of questions than to buy the wrong gear. These mics are going very cheap at less than half price brand new but if they aint right I will just keep looking. Would like the B6's but not at the full price.

they are about 6 db quieter then the regular , but if you can check before you buy it might be ok , i worked with these on different sennheiser system ( the sk-50) and they didnt sound to bad but i had to crank the input stage for small talk on drama .
might be that the hiss wouldnt be a problem, i dont know ,i haven't try them with g-2 or ev , no doubt that they are much better then the **** that coming with the package .
the gold are more prof to the sweat then the regullar .if you can find them and its a bargain try to check it and then decide , if you dont wont to take risk , the b-6 is a wonderful mike and the emw is very good 2( the b-6 come in low sensitivity as well) , check the sanken coss-11 , thats my favorite for all around
be careful it also come in 2 versions ,the red band is the low sensitivity lav

So whats the difference between the:
Sennheiser MKE 2-ew Gold and the
Sennheiser MKE 2-ew-3 Gold?

Is one more suitable for drama than the other or are they both almost identical and not suitable for film?

What does the polish shouts while sex under her husband -" in beige , definitely in beige we must paint the celling"
maybe in other language it sounds better :-)

MKE 2-ew-3 09832 - as MKE 2-ew GOLD, but beige

Hi Exile
I'm using the b-6 with two tiny red bands about 3 inches down from the 3.5 mm connector. Is this low sensitivity? I thought it would it work best with the Evolution G2 (SK 100 G2 Transmitter) Right? I thought the little bit of high freq. hiss was coming from the transmitter.

this is 10 db lower sensitivity then the regular gray ones , usually use for theater or loud voices situations .
