Sennheiser mics in Sony transmitters

Hey,
Can anyone tell me why a Tram lav with an 1/8" connector built for Sennheiser EW transmitters wouldn't work in a Sony UWP transmitter? They have the exact same connection and it fits perfectly; however, I don't get any sound off of the mic.

I believe the internal connections in the plug are different. Why don't you write Tram and get their wiring diagrams and check for sure.
 
It depends on wiring and powering.

The Sennheiser is wired tip and sleeve only with the ring shorted to sleeve for a microphone.
