Sennheiser MD46 vs Electro Voice RE50??

I am looking to add a handheld mic and wireless kit to my setup. It will be used indoors and outdoors shooting a college radio music show. Interviewing at college sporting events (basketball & football), and also music industry events held in clubs and outdoor events (concerts etc).

I am considering going with the Sennheiser G2 500 kit with either the MD46 or RE50?

You do not need the 500kit if you are only using it for this application. Buy the 100 and save money. The 100 butt plug works well with the md46 and the mic sounds better than the RE50b. I have both. md46 is longer and heavier, especially with butt plug, for my taste but I always take it before the re50.

If you are using a mic flag, the RE50 maybe a little too short. if it was one inch longer it would be perfect length. The md46 is way too long even with a mic flag.

Metal body will aid in wireless transmission according to Sennheiser. I have not tested.
