Sennheiser HD 25 models questions

First question:
Is there any difference in the sound quality between Sennheiser HD 25 Plus and SP?

Second question:
A while ago I purchased used Sennheiser HD 25 SP on eBay. After some time the sound on the right earphone became intermittent, due to loose contact. Replacing the cord didn't solve it, there is a loose contact inside the earphone itself. Does anyone know how to disassemble it? I'm an electronics technician, so I may well fix it, only I'm not sure how to disassemble it.

Third question:
Recently I purchased a new Sennheiser HD 25 Plus. There is an unpleasant pressure on my ears, so I'd like to loosen the angle of the plastic 'bow' a little, but not too much. Any idea about how to do it?

I think the 25 and plus are the same drivers so must pretty much sound the same. The main difference is the headband as the SP has a simpler design.

You need to be careful when inserting the cord as one contact is larger than the other so if you put it in the wrong way it may damage the contact, the drivers are replaceable so if you take off the earpieces and cover there should be some screws to remove the driver.

I also find the pressure quite hard but that is part of the on-ear design to enable a tight seal. I personally have put velour pads on mine and they tend to work looser in time but you could try warming the plastic with steam to adjust the angle but be careful not to stretch them too much as they may break. The headband on the Plus also pulls apart and that may also offer a more comfortable fit. The HD26 has a neat feature that does this automatically when you put the headset on your head.
