Sennheiser G2 Question

I have the Sennheiser G2 wireless audio system with both the lav and plug-on pack (SKP 100) for a hand held microphone.

On both transmitters the AF signal is displayed in response to speech or singing as expected.

But I recently bought the Sennheiser G2 microphone transmitter (SKM100) and this DOES NOT display any AF signal on its display in response to the same speech or singing. However the receiver still picks it up correctly on its AF signal bars. I have tried sensitivity to both extremes with still no signal recognised on the AF bar graph of the transmitter.

Is this correct? It seems wrong to me. I called the Sennheiser agent in Australia but they were hopeless wanting me to buy a G3 instead of helping me.

Let confirm with me whether something is wrong as I suspect.

Thanks.

The Owners Manual is HERE.

On page 10 it clearly shows that the SKM 100 G2 has an AF display:-
(8) 7-step level display for audio signal “AF”

So, as far as I can see, it *should* display the AF level and if it doesn't it's faulty.

Thanks John,

I know you are correct... I was just hoping that there was some silly configuration I was not aware of which switched it off without me knowing. It was hopeful thinking, if you know what I mean.

Regards.
