Sennheiser G2 = Bat out of Hell

So I was watching some Meatloaf live concert on HDNet tonite (waiting for Here Come the Mummies to start), and I said to myself, "wow, those like G2's" (in reference to the handheld wireless that Meatloaf and some of the other singers were using. They were definitely Sennheisers, but I thought maybe they were one of the higher end that just looked the same. But, soon enough, there it was one the side of the mic, in HD glory: EW100G2.

Were sales of his last album so bad that he couldn't even afford the 500's? :D
 
Given the condition of his voice for the last several years, I don't think a better mic would help.
 
Even Antares pitch correction couldn't keep up with his drift. Kinda sad, really because I am a big fan of his early work with Steinman.
