Sennheiser ew112P G2 Question

There 3 Frequency Ranges for this Wireless system. Don't know if it is the same for all wireless sytems, but my question is, say I buy the G2 from EVS and get the B Range, can I change it to something else later if I needed to?

I guess I don't really know how that works. Can someone explain? I understand, I think, that the Ranges are created for particular cities in order to not get other equipment crossed. Correct me if i'm wrong or clear it up. Sorry for not know how this works.

Re: Sennheiser ew112P G2 Question

You stuck with the range you buy. I live in Seattle also and can tell you the clearest range here is 750-770 area which is the C units with Sennheiser. I believe they have a chart on their site for each US city. If not I know Lectrosonic does.

Good luck

Wabbit

I'm right in Seattle, do work around the city and outer lying areas. I'd like the most options possible so I think I'll wait on getting a C range. For now renting a Lectrosonic from Victory Studios for $16 for the weekend isn't bad.

where in seattle you located? what kind of stuff do you do?

Re: Sennheiser ew112P G2 Question

I work everywhere. Last week I was up in Anachortes, next week I do a couple days in Tacoma. Occassionaly even travel as far as Portland and Vancouver. One person even tried to get me to go to Spokane for a 2 day gig (I always looking for work but that's just ridiculous).

Most work I do (consistent yet mostly boring) is in Redmond, won't name and names though. ;) ;) ;)

Re: Sennheiser ew112P G2 Question

If you need to change the frequency range, you'd have to send it back to Sennheiser, and they will charge you a service fee to do it.

The mini-to-XLR, mini-to-mini cable and the shoe mount adapter come with all new kits, standard items. ;D

Hi Rush, I'll be getting a pair of EW12P-G2 in the "C" range for Reno, (No stations in that range here according to the site wabbit posted above) I'm assuming that the EW kit comes with everything I need to mount it to my DVX, yes?

I also need a omni directional cardioid boom mic and all I can find on your EVS site is the Azden SGM-X2 combo mic. I bought an AT897 and a nice lightwave windscreen, as well as a Gitzo boom pole and a K-TEC mic holder for it from you guys already, so I may be a repeat customer. I know that the Azden mic is not too well received here on the DVX forum, though I read a combo review on it and a couple of other mics and it got an OK review, though it has a limited bandwidth compared to the AT897. Will the lightwave I have work with the SGM-X2? Will the K-TEC also work, or do I need another holder and windscreen? Also do you guys carry any other omni directional-cardioid mics that are boom mountable? I can go about $500.00 on one now.

Thanks

David
