I just bought the Sennheiser sk100 Gs kit. The instructions
really don't tell you how to set up the transmitter and the receiver. I have a lav set up with a cable and the sound is great, but when I hook up the radio mikes they sound terrible.
I heard sound but it is very poor in quality. How do you set the squelch? Could someone ( Barry-I bought the book} guide me through the setup step by step. Thanks F B N D

I have an Evolution 100, but I don't have a G2...

On the 100, you make sure that both the transmitter and the receiver have antennas, then set them to the same frequency, making sure it's a channel with no interference. Make sure both have fresh batteries.

Balance the output of the transmitter against the bar graph on the receiver, to make sure you're getting strong levels sent and not clipping or blowing out the receiver. Change the volume on the transmitter until you get a good level on the receiver.

Plug the receiver into an XLR jack on the DVX, and set line/mic and mic sensitivity (-50/-60) until the DVX's audio meters are matching up with the receiver's meter.

At that point you should have pretty good sound.

i have the previous version of the sennheiser evo wireless, the only problem i have ever had with it is when i take the plug in transmitter and plug into a soundboard.

about 1/3rd of the time the sound i get is strange, it just doesn't sound like the level is right, almost like it is too loud but turned down?

hard to explain it. i guess it might be slightly distorted?

i am pretty sure it is the setting in the plug on transmitter but i don't have access to a mixer to play around with it.

and to make matters worse, when i use the plug-in it is always on a different sound board and the sound guys are always too busy to really answer any dumb questions.

I highly recommend you contact the place you bought the wireless from, they should be able to help you out.
