would like to purchase the sennheiser g2 system, which i will do at B&H, and I see that there are about 9 choices in the $599 range.
The are A B and C, which seem to be different MHzs, and then Channel Set A B and C and then Channel Set "A" "B" and "C", with the letters in quotes.

I do almost all my work in New York City, with my Panasonic 100A of course, and was wondering about A) recommendations and B) short explanantions of those different Senn sysytems.

all my thanks

The wireless mics use UHF frequencies, the same frequencies that TV stations higher than channel 13 use. If your mic uses the same frequency as a TV station in your area, then you may get some interference. So if you know that you're going to be using your system mostly in NYC, then you should select a frequency band that is different from those used by TV stations in NYC. The Senn website has a list of TV stations that correspond to each of their frequency bands (A,B, or C).

Each EW100G2 system has 16 preset frequencies, and 4 user selectable frequencies (if I remember correctly). It can also automatically search for a band that is free from interference. So you do have some choices no matter which band you buy.

Another source of interference could be other wireless users. Since most people get the A band, it may be a good idea to get B or C.
