sending fcp seq. to color (subclips)

I'll try and make this quick, clear, and to the point.

I am working on a project that uses 45 minutes of footage from a gopro camera.
I imported the 45 minute clip into my browser, then double clicked it to show in my viewer.
I then made several in and out points through the clip to create subclips.
I then put the subclips into my timeline to create a sequence of shots.

This is where I am having a problem.

When I right click 'send to Color', and the sequence appears in Color, each clip shows up as a random part of the original 45 minute clip.

How do I get each clip in my original Final Cut sequence to show up the same way in Color?
Can someone give me a quick step by step run down?
I have 5 of these 45 min clips to edit into 5 shorter race recaps... so any help is MUCH appreciated.

So far I have spent 6 hours trying to figure this out (searching here, google, my ripple training, friends, youtube, etc.).

I'm using FCP7 and Color 1.5 if that matters.

You need to select the sequence and click "send to color," just as you would send that sequence to Soundtrack Pro. Color will open, and your timeline will be in Color. Maybe you are having a problem understanding the Color interface? It doesn't look or feel like Final Cut Pro. Don't confuse the list of clips with the timeline in Color.

The sequence opens in color just fine. That part isn't the problem.
The problem is Color does not recognize where the clips start and stop. The duration of each clip is there, but its contents is totally random. It has something to do with how I set my in's and out's from the original 45 minute clip.
I have a feeling I will have to export each clip as a quicktime movie and then overwrite the original. However, that just sounds backwards and dumb to me. Yes, dumb haha

Are the clips original H264 or ProRes codec?

The files are originally H264 and remained that way when I opened them in FCP.

Color does not support H.264. Media Manager your Sequence into ProRes LT, then send to Color. H.264 is a royal PITA for any NLE to deal with anyway.

What he said. Convert to prores and you shouldnt see any issues with sending to Color

Yeah, I still cant get it to work. Color still wont recognize the in's/out's of the clips in the sequence. I tried the media manager thing several times and several different ways with no luck. Any other ideas?
