Send to motion?

I use motion quite a bit with FCP quite a bit with my work. But one thing befudles me. Whenever I send clips that I have changed the speed of a clip in a sequence in FCP, motion does not seem to be able to handle it. It gives me another part of the clip at 100%. Making those clips independent does not make a difference. the only option is to export the whole sequence and then send it to motion. But it would be very nice to idividual clips to work with versus one single sequence. Anybody have a fix for this.

As far as I know there doesn't seem to be any way around that. Any time you add a filter, or change the speed of the clip, and send it to Motion it will won't read those alterations.

If there is a fix for this, however, I'd be interested in it as well.

Sorry I couldn't help much.

Or save the slo-mo clip out as a QT movie and reimport. I know this issue and am very hopeful we will see it fixed in FCS 6.0, that we all HOPE will be announced at NAB.

Now I am still learning how to use Motion but what if you used Motion first then imported that into FCP and made the speed changes or whatever, do you think that might work?

Yes that will work. That kind of defeats the purpose of "send to motion" though, but at least you get what you wanted =)
