Semi-Pro

What happened to Will Ferrel? He seems to have hit that SNL wall where you just don't care anymore. I mean I can probably say with a decent amount of certainty that 2 out of his next 4 movies will be about... football and hockey.

I guess to his credit the small movies where he does take a chance aren't really noticed. Maybe that's why he keeps doing these by-the-numbers non-written improv-heavy Will Ferrel acting like Will Ferrel flicks.

But to me, he doesn't make me laugh anymore. And I used to laugh at everything he did.

I think America is picking up on it, as the box office for this film is going to be about half what they predicted. Which is good. Maybe he'll challenge himself more (and when I say "challenge himself", I don't mean go make There Will Be Blood. But at least pick a comedy that isn't SNL star yuks it up in a sports spoof).

I have not see this and plan on not too. The previews for it just don't look as funny as his other movies where I was laughing. I don't know what's happening to him.

saw Semi Pro and liked it. His next 2 movies are Step Brothers (which looks funny) and Land of the Lost. No new sports movies in the works yet.

you have to admit, the homemade videos he makes and posts on funnyordie.com are usually still funny.

I saw the trailer and thought "Okay, so they took aspects of Blades of Glory, Kicking and Screaming, Talladega Nights, made it basketball, and added in the '70s aspect of Anchor Man and you get Semi-Pro" I loved Anchor Man, but enough is enough.

I think it's a shame that audiences didn't turn out much for "Stranger Than Fiction". I thought it was a fantastic film, and when I heard how it sort of flopped all I could think was, "well there goes any chance of him doing another non-loud-obnoxious-jackass-character movie".

I don't know about Semi-Pro. Like all other Will Ferrell movies, I'm sure I'll laugh a few times. I won't pay to see it in the theater, but it will be on my Netflix queue.

The Land of the Lost movie is right up my alley. The idea of Will Ferrell as Marshall has already got me chuckling. I friggin' loved that show as a kid. I even bought the whole series on DVD. Sid and Marty Krofft at their pinnacle. A spoof of the show is almost too easy.

Woody Harrelson should not have been in this suck fest in the first place. Anyone could have played his part. It was a waste of his talent.
