Semi-Brain Dead DVD question

If I have a couple DVDs of automotive running footage, what is the best way to get the footage into FCP 5? I have to get these DVDs back to the agency tomorrow.

I'm used to receiving footage on Beta SP, which I would transfer to mini DV and then firewire into my system.

Should I just run a line out of my DVD player and transfer to mini DV, or is there a way to grab the footage straight from the source?

Any help or opionions would be appreciated, sorry if this is a dumb post.

If you're in a real hurry, run a line from the DVD player to the camera, it may or may not by-pass it to the Firewire port into FCP. If not, to Mini-DV and then capture normally.

If you had time, I'd say buy Cinematize 2.
