Selling Your Film Without Selling Your Soul

[prexdealer]

I came across this posting at Fast, cheap movie thoughts. It talks about new ways of distributing film. It is a free book until Oct 1, 2011. The pdf is free forever, but the ebook versions have charts, pics, etc.

This is a link to the article and there is a 2 min clip there also.

No problem! I'd like to be able to contribute something, since I learn so much on this site! Also, thanks for posting the trailer. I don't know how to do that cool stuff (seriously, not so techno savvy). The pdf isn't bad but I recommend downloading the free ebook (i.e. ipad, kindle, etc) before it is gone. I think there are charts and graphs and other stuff in that version. A lot of the info in the pdf is about what certain movies did to earn back money etc. Some were more successful than others. The profiles on the different movies cover the full range of possibilities: selling dvds to 4 walling to VOD to partnering with certain groups, etc. The road of the independent fillmmaker sure isn't easy sometimes. But like that expression goes, "If it was easy, everyone would be doing it."
