Selling Prints Online

I'm interested in selling my prints online.
But, what's the best way of it?

Question:
If someone purchases an original print from me, would they want it to be also signed by me, the photographer, or would they not care much and just want to get the photo?
I personally believe that I should sign the print before it is mailed to the client.
But, how do I do this?

I think I want to sell my prints through my website and Etsy.

I want to be able to have the client purchase the prints online and have it automatically send the information to a local print shop.
There, the print would be mailed to me, where I would sign it, and then deliver it to the client.
This seems to be the best method, but not sure how practical it is, or if it's necessary - Especially since I travel a lot

Do you think I should sign my prints before they are sent?
How do I have a system to automatically send info to the printing lab, without me having to do anything?
Is pic-time the best option, or something else? (As I would rather not have to pay monthly for that)

I would start slow and gauge interest first before thinking about other details for execution and delivery.

Have you sold any digital copies?

As far as signing, most people sign their work for the recognition. Somewhere in a corner, small print. But it's also usually just added in post unless you're very famous (in which there is a known difference between mass-produced art and original signatures).

But the shipping to and from sounds like a hassle.

Most will not care about your signature unless they can make money from selling your work.
