Selling documentary online?

I have just finished a 12 min documentary. I plan to send it to a few film festivals. I wanted to know, if it is ok to have it (DVD) for sale online in the mean while. Will it still qualify to enter film-festivals if I have the dvd for sale online?

Some inputs will be very helpful.

Look into the specific festival's requirement. Many of the 1st tier festivals require (or strongly prefer) to screen premiers. Others are only concerned about regional premier status.
