Hello,

I have made Dust & Illusions, about which you can find info below. I have been running the film through theaters in the US mostly, with a few shows in Europe and one coming in Australia and Tokyo. At this point the film is very successful, with all shows being sold out since the beginning of the theater tour.

Dust & Illusions, is a 85 minutes documentary film produced over 5 years in SD format. Budget is $138,000 approved by San Francisco Film Society.

I have just been contacted by a large TV station in Australia about acquiring exclusive rights of the film for 3 years and 5 runs on 2 their TV channels. They have seen the film and want it. And I know there will be more coming.

Now what should I expect/ask out of this deal financially? I know PBS would pay $45,000 for such a film. What should I expect out of a large TV station in Australia.

Thank you,
Olivier.

The $A is valued at $US today so you are talking same value.
If your offer is SBS or ABC look at about $15k

very interested to see your film / my daughter has enjoyed Burning man and saving to
go 2011 / if you need a camera assistant Steve

Oh thanks for the information! Much appreciated. I guess $15K is not so bad. But that's what I'd get with 4 screenings NET. Just did one screening in Melbourne Australia and made $4K NET out of it. All the screenings I have done have sold out, so I'm not sure I'd go that route with ABC. But I just wonder what acceptance from one channel could bring, or if it's just like Film Festival, if you don't get in Sundance/Toronto/SWXSW, there's no point trying the other.

Are you in the bay area? The film is showing in San Francisco on Jan 27th.

Thanks a lot!
