Sell XL2 4 V1u? Good Idea?

i bought the xl2 4 months ago, and i am seeing 24p HDV cameras emerge for about the same price i payed for my XL2! Is it a good idea to sell my new xl2 for sonys 1080p 24p cam, or should i wait out the HD wars and stay DV.:dankk2:

If i had a 4 month old XL2 I'd probably just keep it for now. The Sony V1U looks like a nice camera. But it might not be any better than the XL2.

I'll trade you a Nikon D100 with a Nikon 70-200 vr lens for the XL2.

I can meet you in Oakbrook. My wife is wanted to go shopping at the mall there. (I'm in Champaign)

Hah, sorry no trading. I think i am going to go high-def. I sold my DVX back in oct, to go HD but ended up with the XL2 so i think i am going to do what i planned to do last fall.

I really like the looks of the V1U. I think Sony did a nice job there. I've heard good things and bad things about it,,,but I guess that is true for every camera out there. Good luck.

I guess if you want to go HD then V1U isn't a bad way to go. Be aware though that the value of the XL2 have gone way down and you'll have to make up quite a bit of difference. Used XL2 (even very low hours) now goes for $2500 max and the V1U have been hovering aroun 4k.

I owned my XL2 for 2 months before selling it for A1. Trust me, out of all the HDV cameras the A1 is at the top hands down. Even Barry admits the A1 is the best of the HDV cameras even though he isn't so fond of them. Its price is also the best bang for the buck. You wont be dissappointed.
