Self-powered reliable external USB 2.0 drive?

I can only seem to find drives up to 100 GB that are self powered. But I look for drives from 300 GB and up, as I will use them on my notebook. Maybe a harddrive enclosure? And it should be reliable, as I will carry it in a backpack during recording.

I'm looking at firewire drives as you can do a verify when copying from the HVX.

On the power side of things there is very little choice. As we know there is no bus power from the HVX on USB or firewire so the drive enclosure needs to be battery powered. There are very few cases around that have this (a few USB on- the-go, but virtually no firewire ones). I've been looking at seperate battery power supplies to power an external mini firewire drive. They mostly need to be 5v - 1000mA, (the spin up power requirement of a drive is usually the problem) Some of the portable playstation (PSP) ones look interestng. Also this seems quite popular if a little pricey : http://www.aximsite.com/articles/link.php?id=321

Well, as I said I'm using it for my notebook, to the power is coming from the USB 2.0 port of my notebook. So that's why I'm looking for self powered external USB harddisks, as I can only find models up to 100 GB.
