Self Distribution Online

[MagnumDB]

Hi,

I'm fairly certain that sometime last year I came across a website that let indie film maker sell their DVDs through the website. But the best part of it was, the company who owned the site would only produce copies of the DVD when someone placed and order for it.

Does anyone know of this site?

I've seen since dozens of sites that act as a platform for indie film makers to sell their DVD's, but the filmmaker is always the one in charge of packing up and mailing out the DVD themselves; this includes Amazon, Etsy, and of course eBay.

Maybe I read wrong, or maybe the site I saw is no longer in business. Any help is appreciated.

It's like DVXuser.com magic!

I continued my search for sites after posting this, and almost immidiately I sumbled upon not one but TWO sites:

1) Createspace.com
2) IndieFlix.com

I'm pretty sure it was Createspace I found last year. So this is great. Now I'd like to see if other competing sites like these exit.

FAQ
Join

there are three membership types, free, plus ($2.95/month), and pro ($9.95/month).

50/50 revenue sharing with all membership types.

as for selling your movie:
with pro, you can 'sell digital copies'
in plus, you can 'sell mobile copies'

doesn't make too much sense. but i think it means you can sell lower-resolution copies with plus, full-resolution copies with pro.

has anyone had any experience with this site?
