Easy question, I just dont know the answer

What is a self-contained movie, and how does it affect the video file on export?

Self contained - full movie in one file. This is a normal movie file and can be sent and opened.
Ref Movie - small movie that really is an alias to the full movie. If you delete the orginal movie thsi poitns to or try to email thsi you'd have problems.
