self contained movie files

can a self contained movie file be brought back onto a timeline even after all reference clips have been moved to the trash and emptied? I am thinking about removing the watermark on a project. I won't be deleting any of the video clips just the watermark and/or some text from the graphics

should be able too, yes. A self contained movie is just that... it's own complete file.
