I could make some stuff. Im no pro, but would LOVE to do some work, even if you choose not to use it.

No, it's more like the composer needs to see your demo. Any film composer should watch a film and do a rough spotting session before taking on a score. At that point agree or decline the film. One particular composer might not be suited, while another composer might nail it because the material is aligned with their sensibilities.
If you're just blindly, or deafly I should say, looking for a composer; that's a bad idea. There are plenty of ways to find talented composers. You have to do the leg work and find the sound you're after. That's your job. Google would be a good place to start. Selecting a composer is as important as any other aspect in your film. I hate to say it, but from a directors perspective a composer is a tool. If you need a flathead screwdriver you don't reach for a phillips now do you? Know what kind of tool you need.
Danny Elfman sounds incredible in Burton's work. In other films he's so-so in my opinion. It's because Burton and Elfman mesh. Their sensibilites are aligned. I feel that way about Peter Murphy. If he sends me something to look at, sounds and compositions just start flowing out of my head. It's the same thing with Lucas/Williams, Speilberg/Williams, Hitchcock/Herrmann etc. etc.

Good point. Well. I had a composer before but we had a falling out. I like to have the music before hand like some directors do. I think it helps me with the vision. I'm looking for a creepy tone of music. Definatly with piano. It doesn't have to be orchestral. Just have good structure. I'm not looking for something impressive. It's only for a short film. Later the music will be edited to the video. However, I would just want them to compose a sample at this point. I just need some help with tone.

But again, from what I hear, Howard makes the music before the movies even done on paper, so Shyamalan has something to write to.
