I am pondering a film about a rather sensitive yet extremely compelling social subject, it is clear that most potential characters will not agree to being interviewed on camera, especially those with compelling stories, due to privacy issues. So I am thinking that I might be able to get them agree to being taped, or at least tape recorded (audio), and then paying actors to recount the teens' stories as closely as possible.
The original recordings will never be seen by anyone other than me, the actors, and a few on my staff. Of course the footage of the actors can be covered with a standard release, but what about the footage and/or transcripts from the original interviews?
Can anyone tell me what I need in terms of a contract to secure the rights to use my character's true (hopefully) stories about their lives?
