Searchable database for people looking for scripts? Or am I getting stalked again?

So today I receive a rather odd email from an AOL address. Strange 'kid in highschool' screenname at the beginning.

Basically all it said was "hi, I'm an actor and writer. Are you looking for a screenplay or know anyone who is?" With a first name.

Now I didn't think much of it. And respond with my typical. We are always looking for new project. Do you have any other details. And if you don't mind my asking where did you get this email address.

So I get a response back with minimal information and the guy says "I think I did a search for producers looking for scripts and your email popped up."

I am by no means a name person. I don't have any work online. Now I start thinking. Why does this sound familiar?

Well - Two years ago I picked up a stalker. My ex girlfriend - who left me, suddenly began stalking me a year after we broke up.

She started to impersonate other people. Made fake facebook accounts. Fake AIM accounts. And the last time she contacted me, she was "a film student in Michigan" who picked up my SN off a search for producers online.

Is there a database that exists that I don't know about? I mean - I really don't know how to respond with the email being so similar to last year. And I did threaten legal action on her. Opened a cyber-stalking case against her. The whole 9 aside from a restraining order since she never threatened my life and therefor they don't have a reason to get a restraining order.

I guess I am looking for some reassurance that people sometimes find your email address and try to send unsolicited scripts to you? Or is this seemingly as bad as I think it is.

I would venture to say you're being stalked again - especially if the email was eerily similar to one you received from that person in the past...

Any email I get from an unknown name goes unread and I mark it as junk. I would not respond to it. Our names get sold all of the time from sites we visit. Best advice is tag it as junk if it's an unknown sender. If it persists under different guises, then maybe there's something going on I suppose.

World wide database of producers looking for scripts accessible by random high school student or ex-girlfriend with stalker history trying once again

hmmm.... which one would I bet on :)

Sorry for the sarcasm but I would assume that this person contacting you now may very well be the same person as last year. Just have to be cautious.

Sheesh. Chicks are so nuts.

But we love them anyway...
(sometimes :D)

Oh, and Matt, I can assure you that it is not ME that's stalking you (before someone else makes the joke) but that someone else definitely IS...maybe. What do you make of that? Ha!

Just don't set up any meetings and you SHOULD be fine. Best of luck!
