My website has worked its way up to the top of google. It's a lousy homemade site and the host charges too much. Question: Assuming I keep the domain name but changed hosts and had a new page designed from scratch, would I lose my exalted spot at google?

What do you mean by top of google? For what search term?

Changing hosts would NOT effect your position... changing content might. It really depends how you define "top of google" and the search term you are trying to maintain. Can you provide some more detail?

Meaning when I type in the subject into the search engine and hit "enter", my site is one of the first to be listed by google.

don't change your new page in any way until you're well "propagated" on the new server.

Then proceed cautiously. Your heading is important, the title, the lead paragraph.

you can change the design and coloration of the page to your heart's content; that won't make a difference.

updating the page regularly with fresh information will keep you up there.

good luck

If you type in "SmpleRobb" on google ALL my pages come up on the first page. It's not really hard to get your website on the number one page of google. It's actually tooooooo easy.

Nobody types in smplerobb. I assume he's talking about his being first with relatively common search terms.
