SD702 to hard drive cabling

Need some help -- I'm wanting to connect my SD702 to a Western Digital "Passport" external hard drive and have some cabling issues. I need to connect the 6-pin firewire connection out of the 702 to the USB connection on the external hard drive but can't find the proper cable or adapters to do the job. Any suggestions anyone? Where can I find this cable? I've looked all over the internet with no luck.

There is no such cable. Firewire is firewire and USB is USB, they are two different protocols and you can't just plug them together and expect them to work. You need to get a firewire drive to use with the 702. Sorry for the bad news . . .

You're right. I agree that's the best way to go. I did find an adapter cable (SIMA SUO-200) but I have no idea if that would be a good idea or not or if it would even work at all for this situation. Best way was to just order a firewire drive which I just did. Problem solved!

Thanks for the the info and help.
