SD and HD

Hi,

For about 3 years now, i have only worked with SD footage...but in the next 2, i want to go to full HD.

Here's my question...

I've started to have some HDV footage from friends and I want to incorporate it in a video/dvd and mixing it up with SD (DVX100B) footage...is it possible??? Can i put some HD footage on a standard timeline (Premiere PRO 2)?

Also, do i need some special hardware on my PC to handle the HD?

You can put it on there, it won't run very well. The timeline isn't set for HD, will lag like crazy.
