Scrounging for a Monologue

I have been requested to prepare a monologue related to firefighting. Today, Sunday of all days, I was asked to meet with an agent and we had brunch. He looked at my portfolio and said "give me a monologue related to firefighting, and you have 3 days." I have been looking at the obvious sites online, but I know there is one on "Backdraft" but cannot find it listed.

I am trying not to go out and buy it. Help?

Okay, I think I am going to go with the Eulogy from Ladder 49.

Next question, is it acceptable to modify or adapt a monologue? I love the emotion in the eulogy, but I feel, to really make it pop, there are other things that can be said. Does a monlogue have to be a word for word quote?

Unless it's from one of the classics, I think it's acceptable. But hey, I've created monologues from novels and record reviews (Lester Bangs review of Iggy Pop). If you're trying to give it teeth rather than avoid some difficulty it presents, I think you'll be good.
