scrolling text

I'm probably overlooking something obvious, but how do you make a long piece of single-line text scroll across video, as if you're reading it? I typed it all in across several pages, but it just sits there...

Assuming you created the text with the media generator, you need to keyframe at it's starting point (presumably with the text off screen to the right), then keyframe it's end point (preumably with the text off screen to the left!). Make sure you have adjusted the DURATION of the text event to suit your desired speed.
