script to read outside file and update content

I want to be able to open a project, it looks at list.txt or .html or .pdf doesnt matter
Take the text of line 1, puts it into the first line of text in the project, then line 2 of the file gets placed on the second line of the project.

Like if it was a train station, and you had a page generated every 10 minutes of what train is comming, with how late it will be, and all you would have to do is just refresh the project and it would read that page/file.

Are you looking to create a new text-layer each time there is a line-break in the source file?

If not – that is, if you just want to import the whole block of text into a single layer – then a script isn’t really necessary, and you could get away with a fairly simple expression.

Check out Harry Frank’s tutorial on using expressions with external documents here, and be sure to check his addendum to it, if you’re using CS4.

If, however, you do require the line/layer split, let me know.
