Script Error

When trying to do an image sequence using the comes-with script, I am getting an "insufficient step time" error.

When spitting frames out from a 24p project, shouldn't I be able to get one image per frame? That is 0:0:0;01, isn't it?

If I set it to 0:0:0;02, I get every other frame, so shouldn't ;01 get me every frame?

Why does Vegas hate me so?

I had that problem in Vegas 5. I don't think I ever got it to work, I just had to download a new script.

It used to work in v5 for me. :-(

I even tried commenting out the section of the javascript code that throw the exception, but it really does blow up on the math somewhere.

Weirdness: setting it to dump every 2 frames...doesn't. It will go 1,3,5,6,7,9,11,12 etc...sometimes 2, sometimes 1. Makes me think my 24p isn't quite 24. That would explain the math problem...but...

Even setting the project options to 24 rather than the 23.97 doesn't convince the program that there are 24 frames per second.

I'll have to fire up v5 and see if I was just crazy thinking it worked before.

Yep. In v5, it works fine.

Drop a message in the Vegas Scripting forum (Sony site) to see if anyone has any ideas.

Wish Sony had a more obvious bug-reporting system. All the feedback thingies seem to be oriented toward "what feature do you want?"

Gee...how about this feature working properly.

SHould anyone else encounter this (and possibly similar errors with other scripts), set the ruler to display Time & Frames, rather than SMPTE time.

Apparently, the routines used to calculate frames uses the current display format, and with SMPTE it is totally f...um...incorrect.
