High recommendations for Craig Kellem at www.hollywoodscript.com. There are lots of script consultants out there who are frustrated screenwriters, so look at who they are and what they've done before you trust them with your cash.

HEED this warning. If I had to pay for consultation I'd go to donedeal, altough a recommendation from Barry's probably pretty spot-on.

Edit: I see it now. Not a bad site, and definitely worth looking into. 230.00 for consultation sounds nice.

Various people have used Craig at DDp. I've heard good things. although you can check out reviews of his service through donedealpro.

The consultation community is pretty small, so there's a very good chance people have used them before and posted their thougths in the internet/donedealpro.

I'm not sure being produced makes one a better script doctors.

I got to have a firsthand experience with Derek Rydall at ScriptwriterCentral.com. He's great to work with and I highly recommend him.

Actually, BEFORE I pay for any script service, I would get feedback from 2-3 people, those who will let you have it straight up. I would then revise that script and resend it to those people to see if the correction were solid.

THEN I would pay for script services. I don't want to send a raw script to a consultant if I can fix things up a bit beforehand.

I second that Charli. THis is exactly what I'm doing. when I think my script is ready for the big screen and after a few objective people critique it, I then think about the doctor.

works for me. nine times out of ten a decent writer can give good advice when it's in the early stages.

Though not a professional script consultant, nor a professional writer, I have been studying the craft for several years now and have reviewed scripts for many writers in the last 2 years.

If you want another set of eyes to look over your script, I'd be happy to check it out and give feedback.

Peace,
Larry

Thanks everyone for your 2 cents! I agree w/ you Charli, that's what I'm doing right now. Again thanks for participating!

In my experiences, if a gunman broke into your house at night and put a gun to your head, and made you list all what you think was wrong with your latest script, you would hit on what most things other people would tell you was wrong in the first place.

Sometimes it's easier to ignore that little voice in your head and opt for an out and not re-write, with a favour paid to another reader to point those same mistakes you knew all along but didn't want to admit. lol.

IMO, time creates object distance over a re-write, which is critical to the entire revision process.

Then again, a fresh pair of eyes is always helpful and welcome :)
