Screw-in filters for adapter setups

Just trying to lose weight off my adapter setup so bought some screw-in ND's and polarizers for an upcoming outdoor shoot, primarily handheld. For wide angle lenses i got a step-up from 52 to 55mm and filters to go with that. cheapish though (hama) because where I live photography shops have gone bankrupt hence little choice. Also got rubber hoods to get rid of some flare.

I'm wondering if the pola effect becomes accentuated when panning because of the size of the filters. Never noticed the cavision 4x4 polas affect the image much on small pans, actually not sure they do their job properly. Anybody shooting with screw-in filters can caution/advise?
 
I use screw ons for my HVX without the adaptor because I don't like the additional weight of the rods/mattebox etc. If the threading is good, I find them just as quick as 4 x 4's, mainly because they're faster to clean.

I think it's not a bad idea for adaptors since you don't need to use a donut or tape on your redrock gears to prevent glare coming through the backside. The only reason I haven't done it yet is that I got three different sized fronts on my Nikons. But if you had a standardized front or step up rings it could be a cool option, especially for travelling light. You can always ghetto rig a grad on the front via camera tape. Also, they're cheap. Optically, no difference.

A good place for ordering filters is the Filter Gallery in NYC. I bought a set of used 4 x 4's in great condition for almost 30 pecent off list.
