Screw for a manfrotto plate.... why is it so hard to find....

So I lost the tripod mounting screw that goes from the plate to your camera/rails/etc.

For the life of me, and I'm rather embarrased, I can't find a replacement on B&H. I've tried purchasing what I thought was the right screw twice now and it's been the wrong one both times. It was the right size (1/4") but there wasn't enough of a gap between the base of the screw and the threads for it to slide into the plate.

Can anyone link me to a screw that will work?

For the record, I'm using the 504HD head with the long plate.

I hate that stuff! I have a Miller 30 head and sticks and had to find a new base plate screw, which I bought directly from the manufacture. The sucker cost like $13.00; for one screw! I bought some back ups, but that is a crazy price for such a simple part, but without it, a $2000.00 + head and sticks were useless. They gotcha and they know it. I suggests contacting Manfrotto directly for the part.

Scroll down this page for the frotto one.

A general comment;

Any piece of engineering that is not made in huge runs costs money

How are these made?
Lathe..
Reduce Diameter
Thread
Slot after the thread
Maybe Knurl
Part off (cut)
Mount in milling machine
Mill top slot
Pack
Add to stocktake
Move to distributor
Stocktake
Move to dealer
Stocktake
Remove from stock
pack for shipping
Despatch

All for $13 - amazing!

The shame is that a pack of ten would probably cost $26 and set an operator up for a long time..
