OTHER: Screenwriting wth a Chromebook

Does anyone know of a Chrome App for screenwriting? I have a Chromebook and the basic word processor that comes with it just isn't cutting it for me. There are downloadable templates out there, but they're a pain to work with and not really formatted correctly at that. I'm not interested in a web-based screenwriting either because I want to have the ability to write in locations where there is no wi-fi.

Is there anything at all out there? All my google searches have been fruitless so far, and I've scoured Google's app store. It seems like no one has even thought about making this product, which is kind of mind blowing to me, seeing as how cheap and portable the Chromebook is.

I use Dubscript on my tablet. Works well in Fountain format and simple to use. Fountain was created by screenwriter John August and basically lets you use any text editor by obeying simple formatting rules. http://fountain.io

What do you use to 'format' your Fountain scripts into standard screenplay format? Highland is the only 'pretty printer' for Fountain that I'm aware of... I've not kept up on Fountain of late... has anything changed?

I use Fade In on my PC, MacBook, iPad and Droid 4 but there's a whole list of alternatives at: http://fountain.io/apps

While most of those 'I would use'... I think for many people who want to 'get on with it'... it looks like "Fade In" may be the solution, as it allows for importing and exporting of Fountain marked up text, but would also allow for printing (eprinting) of formatted screenplays, as well as be itself a screenplay 'writing' environment.

I 'test drove' "Fade In" a while ago, and at $49.95 for such a tool, it seems pretty good. Some applications I think ought to be 'cheap'... a tool that allows for wysiwyg screenplay formatting 'ought' to be cheap... tools that process a screenplay ought to be individually 'cheap'...

Trelby is great! I used it to write my last feature on Ubuntu and then Windows. I'm sad it hasn't seen an update in about a year.

Then why would you buy a WEB ONLY device like a Chromebook?

A Chromebook is not a Web-only device. It is a Web-browser-only device.

There used to be little difference. But since HTML 5 there is. HTML 5 brought offline use, local file saving, etc.

Apps like Google Docs, Spreadsheets, and even GMail can work offline now, then sync to the cloud once there's an Internet connection again.

I use the PC-based version of Celtx v. 2.9.1. Not only on my PC, but also on my Netbook. Don't know if it would run on Chrome, but I'd be glad to send you the installation file.
