Screenwriting Blog Wins Emmy

As a DVX/HVX and now HPX owner and user I have always gotten a lot of insights from the DVXuser group. And the forums have not only answered a lot of questions before I even ask them, but they have taught me a lot about how information can be transmitted.

With all that said the blog I started last January (Screenwriting from Iowa) won a Regional Emmy a couple months back in Minneapolis.

I had entered some commericals I produced (got one nomination with one shot on the HVX) and saw where they had a catagory called Advanced New Media/Arts so I thought, "Why not enter the blog?

I believe there are 19 Emmy chapters throughout the country so if winning an Emmy is on your wish list check out their webisite at http://www.emmyonline.org/chapters.html
and see if there are any catagories that match the work you have done.

Thanks. A few years ago a producer I knew told me he won an Emmy and I was impressed. I really didn't understand then the difference between Primetime, Daytime, and Regional Emmys. In one sense there is a big difference, but for clients I work with an Emmy is an Emmy. Impressing clients and getting more work is one good reason to do the award thing. (The hardware looks nice, too.)

It took me several years to get there but I made it and I thought it would encourage others. Regional Emmy's have lots of catagories including things like PSA's.
