This is like crack for screenwriters. I downloaded 80--count 'em, 80--scripts from this website over two nights. (Will I actually read them all? Darn tootin' I will.) And they're all actual scripts, not weak transcriptions, continuity scripts, and such.

And great scripts, too: Raiders of the Lost Ark, Network, Marty, Tender Mercies, To Kill a Mockingbird, Die Hard, L.A. Confidential, The Full Monty, High Noon, Raging Bull, Alien, The Apartment, The Third Man, Cool Hand Luke, Ordinary People, Harry Potter, Up in the Air, Little Miss Sunshine.

They've got the old stuff for studying for story and dialogue; they've got the new stuff for studying modern script format. They've got scads of movies from the last few years and just coming out. (Always good to know how what's selling now looks and feels on the page.) They've got multiple versions of lots of them, too, so you can see how they evolve.

They've also got a link to the Black List. If you're serious about screenwriting and you're not familiar with the Black List, you need to be. Now it's online, and oh so interesting. Check it out.

And lose all the rest of that productive time you had.

Awesome site texvanwinkle. Thanks for the heads up.

What I really like about that site is that they not only have all those feature screenplays, but also: TV scripts, storyboards, comic book scripts, and videogame scripts. Some of those types (especially videogame scripts) are harder to find in abundance online. Hopefully they'll continue to grow their archive.

Also, it is nice that the stuff they've got is formated correctly. A lot of my favorite classic films are easily accessible in script form online, however, the formatting is often totally messed up.

Crack is about right. Curious about the unproduced adaptation of Gary Larson's 'The Far Side' comics.
