screenplay contests to enter ?

Here are the ones that matter:

Nicholl
Austin
Disney Fellowship
Sundance

Others:

Scriptalooza
Slamdance
Blue Cat (10k to winner)

***

Placing in Nicholl or Austin may get your repped or have your script sold - "Armored" placed in top ten of Nicholl and sold for $400k. "Akeela and the Bee" won Nicholl and the writer (though took him years) got his filmed funded and was able to direct it.

A top five placer in Austin got him noticed by MTV and was asked to write a screenplay.

Disney Fellowship winners have never had a script produced (that I am aware, correct me if I am wrong) but they get a stipend I think of $50k and must write 2 scripts within a year of their workshop. Disney does however hold rights to what you pen there.

Sundance Institute Writing Lab selected William Wheeler for his script "The Prime Gig" and he went on to write "The Hoax" starring Richard Gere.

Thanks Charli. I can't find a Disney Fellowship for 2010 for feature film screenplay writing, I think that is now off the radar. But I did find the Blue Cat contest the other day and was wondering if that was a good one to enter, now I know. :)randall

Moviepoet.com has a free 5 page script contest every month. No prizes but you will end up with feedback from 30-40 different people each month. It's a great site for anyone looking to work the bugs out of their craft before they start wasting money sending unpolished screenplays off to the big contests.

Yeah Bwind22 told me 'bout this one too. I can't wait for the next month contest to begin so I can start practicing!

Is this site networked with filmmakers for these scripts to actually be produced or does the writing stay on the site
