Screenings HeeHee

Sad Max

Artful Dodger
Having recently been awarded my Art Directors' Guild card, yesterday I got the first invite to a studio screening, from MGM. Lions for Lambs, at the Television Academy (or the Directors' Guild).

No more paying for movies. Alternately, no more paying full price, since the card is good for 1/2 off at pretty much every area chain theater.

I like my job.

Sure does.

The Academy Awards screener copies will start showing up soon, too.

Can you believe that they sent me a form asking if I wanted to opt out of the screener program?

Opt out?!

Are they freakin' mad?!

Free movies that other people would kill to get their hands on? Count me out.

Yeah, right.:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

It's because they are now digitally fingerprinting each copy, so that if you were to let it out for dubbing, they could trace it back to you.

So it's almost like a warning, hey, if yer planning on piracy, y'all can just opt out now...

Gotta love it when they assume you're not just going to do something criminal, but stupidly criminal...

My friend used to work at a talent agency and would get Academy screeners from all the people that weren't clients anymore...Good times.
